The bones of Battlefield multiplayer are not changing for Battlefield V. Battlefield V is still a “sandbox,” as DICE’s senior designers like to describe it, and if everything goes according to plan, it’s one that should keep you playing for a long, long time. That may sound scary for long-time fans, but DICE seems to be integrating these new ideas into the Battlefield mold. Others, like giving every character the ability to build fortifications on the fly (as in Fortnite), invoke specific games. Some of these changes, like its “unprecedented” emphasis on character customization and the pivot away from expansion packs to a “live” content model, reflect popular trends. Battlefield V will see a litany of changes, big and small, which invoke modern trends that have become standard among competitive online games. Yes, Battlefield V returns to World War II but, aside from its “War Stories” single-player campaign, the period is not its defining characteristic. it'd be essentially Pacific D-Day.The bones of Battlefield multiplayer are not changing for Battlefield V. there's so much in the Pacific Theater that they could make just as much content as they have now, pretty much an entirely new game's worth of maps.ĮDIT: forgot Tarawa, that would also be an incredible map. Singapore, the Philippines, Guadalcanal (specifically Tenaru Hendersen Field and the Battle of Mount Austen, the Galloping Horse, and the Seahorse), Peleliu, Iwo Jima, Okinawa. holy shit would that make for some great maps and intense gameplay. North Africa: El Alamein (both battles could be good), Tobruk (Fall of Tobruk rather than the first Allied capture would be good for the game i think), Kasserine Pass Italian campaign: Sicily (could have 2 maps, one for the airborne landings and one for the seaborne landings), Anzio, Monte Cassino Western Front: Arnhem, Nijmegen, "The Island", Crossing the Rhine Still plenty of WWII content for them to explore and expand onĮastern Front: Kharkov, Berlin, Odessa (would love CQB in the catacombs), Seelow Heights, Leningrad, Smolensk, and it would also be cool to maybe play as some partisans in Yugoslavia
